About

MOSHE
Words That Make a Difference

MOSHE is a social movement working to reduce suicide and suicide attempts in Israel. Through its unique, short-term ROOFING model, MOSHE delivers rapid, focused, community-based intervention in moments of crisis.  MOSHE is the first organization in Israel to operate through a community-based emergency response to suicide prevention, serving as a life-saving barrier between people in crisis and a tragic outcome.

MOSHE’s services are community-based and do not replace professional mental health care, but complement it by providing immediate, human support when it is most needed.

Our Vision: To build an aware and protected society where suicide prevention is a shared community responsibility, and every person in distress has access to a human, community, and professional response.

Youth & Teens

Adolescents face an elevated risk of suicide due to a complex mix of emotional and physical changes, alongside questions of identity, belonging, and self-worth.

LGBTQ+

People in the LGBTQ+ community face a higher risk of suicide due to experiences of rejection, discrimination, and social or family exclusion, not because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Former Religious

Individuals leaving religious communities may face increased risk due to the combined impact of emotional upheaval and social isolation, highlighting the need for tailored, sensitive support.

Older Adults

Older adults face elevated suicide risk, often linked to loneliness, declining health, loss of independence, and the emotional toll of major life changes.

Men

Men die by suicide at significantly higher rates than women, often influenced by life crises, trauma, and social norms that make it harder to express distress or seek help.

When Should You Contact MOSHE?

If you, or someone close to you, are experiencing suicidal distress and are unsure what to do, what to say, or how to help, you are not alone.

Whether you have noticed warning signs, are worried about things getting worse, or don’t know how to reach out, MOSHE is here to listen, guide, and support you.

In cases of immediate danger, please contact emergency services.
