From Pain to Growth
From Crisis to Hope

Gal Nissim-Emanuel, CEO of MOSHE, founded the movement in 2017 after her beloved brother, Moshik (Moshe Uri Nissim z”l), died by suicide. His death shook her world and ignited a profound sense of purpose: to transform personal loss into meaningful social change.

“It became both my duty and my privilege to launch MOSHE. A duty, because Moshik’s death shattered our world. A privilege, to lead a movement that saves lives and transforms private pain into hope for others.”

Drawing on her personal journey and many years of professional experience, Gal developed MOSHE’s community-based intervention model: ROOFING.

At its heart is ROOFING, a unique emergency response approach built around a life-saving circle of human support. It provides immediate help, guidance and ongoing support, mobilizing the person’s close circle and community to face the crisis together.

Today, MOSHE is a nationwide social movement, demonstrating every day that suicide can be prevented, and that communities play a vital role in saving lives.

About the Movement

MOSHE is a nationwide social movement dedicated to reducing suicide and suicide attempts in Israel. It operates at the intersection of community, crisis response, and prevention, bringing immediate, life-saving support to people in acute distress.

Through its innovative, community-based model, MOSHE delivers rapid, real-time intervention. It is the first organization in Israel to function as a community-based emergency response system for suicide prevention, serving as an active, life-saving barrier between a person at risk and a tragic outcome.

Roofing

At MOSHE, we developed ROOFING: a life-saving method for rapid response in moments of acute emotional distress. This community-based model acts immediately, building a protective human circle around a person at risk and helping prevent suicide.

Suicide Prevention Academy

MOSHE leads a comprehensive educational program that provides knowledge, tools, and training for diverse audiences, including professionals, teens, parents, and communities. By raising awareness and building practical skills, we equip community members to recognize warning signs, reach out, and help prevent suicide.

Life Saving Community

Join MOSHE’s Facebook community, a supportive and safe digital space where people can talk, ask, share, and feel together. It is a unique online space where, as a network, we can hold and face suicide together.

When a person’s
pain runs deep,

steps in.
